Christian Butts

Christian joined Working Power’s finance team in 2025 to support the development and financing of community solar projects that build local ownership and economic opportunity. He brings a background in public finance, utility economics, and infrastructure planning to help bridge project finance with community impact.Before joining Working Power, Christian:

• Advised public agencies and communities on major infrastructure and clean energy projects with the Build America Bureau and EpicWorks Advisors;
• Developed financial models and regulatory analyses for utilities, municipalities, and energy developers during more than six years at The Brattle Group; and
• Contributed to impactful research and policy work focused on energy justice, community wealth-building, and inclusive investment.

Christian holds a Master’s in City & Regional Planning from Penn’s Weitzman School of Design, with an Energy Management & Policy certificate from the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, and a Bachelor’s in Business Economics & Public Policy with a certificate in Spanish fluency from Penn’s Wharton School.
