Sargent Memorial Church
The Sargent Memorial Solar project is a 256.32 kW solar array over the parking lot of the Sargent Memorial Presbyterian Church in the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood of Washington, D.C.’s Ward 7. The project is co-developed by Groundswell, a nonprofit equitable community solar developer, and SunLight General Capital, a solar developer with a long track record of successful community solar projects in the District. The project provides 100% free clean energy to 73 income-qualified church congregation members. The total project cost $731,000 to construct, and will generate over $1 million in local community benefits over the life of the project. Working Power’s investment and the Solar for All incentive allocation has enabled us to deliver 100% of the energy free to low income households. The system has been energized since June 2023.
